    Quick verdict

HyperMount is a good idea that works best on the right surface. It is a compact suction mount with a lever lock and a sticky gel base, topped with a MagSafe magnet head. On smooth glass, tile and hard smooth plastic, the independent reviews we found say it grips firmly over bumps and comes off clean. As of November 3, 2026, it costs $29.99 on the partner offer page we link to (plus shipping) and $34.99 on Statik’s own store.

The honest part, before the pros: the most common one-star complaint is that it will not stay on textured, rubbery or soft-touch dashboards. And the company behind it, Curv Group LLC (the maker of KeySmart), has a D- from the BBB and is not accredited, because it failed to respond to 16 complaints. If your dash is smooth and you are fine with the return terms, it is worth a look. If your dash is grainy or leather, skip it.

    Pros

    • ✓ Independent reviewers say it holds tight on smooth dashes, glass and tile
    • ✓ Snaps straight onto MagSafe iPhones (iPhone 12 and newer)
    • ✓ Metal rings included for Android phones and non-MagSafe cases
    • ✓ Dual hinges and a 360 degree pivot; also works on a desk, mirror or kitchen tile
    • ✓ Reusable base: Statik says a warm-water rinse restores the grip
    • ✓ 2-year warranty against defects

    Cons

    • ✗ Statik’s company has a BBB D-, not accredited, 16 complaints unanswered
    • ✗ Trustpilot 4.2 store-wide, but 25% of reviews are one star
    • ✗ Weak on textured, leather, soft-touch or curved dashboards
    • ✗ Statik store returns: 60 days, but you pay return shipping
    • ✗ Statik’s own pages disagree on strength: 66 lb or 88 lb
    • ✗ Contact page lists an odd phone number (55 11 937312)
    • ✗ No charging on this model

    What is the HyperMount?

HyperMount is made by Statik, a brand run by Curv Group LLC of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, the same company that makes KeySmart. The current version is the HyperMount Gen 3. It is a mount only: no battery and no charging. A separate HyperMount Pro adds wireless charging.

    • How it sticks: you clean the surface, peel the film off the base, press it down and slide a lever to lock the suction. A pull tab breaks the seal to remove it. The base is faced with a tacky, washable gel that Statik calls VacuLock. It is not a powered vacuum.
    • How the phone attaches: a strong magnet head. MagSafe iPhones snap on directly. Other phones and non-MagSafe cases need one of the two included stick-on metal rings, and Statik says to wait 24 hours before full use.
    • Adjustment: dual hinges, 360 degree rotation and 135 degree tilt, per Statik’s help center.
    • In the box: the mount, 2 magnetic ring adapters and an instruction manual.
    • Where Statik says to use it: “clean, smooth, hard surfaces” such as glass, mirrors, tile, smooth dashboards and sealed desks. Its product page says to “skip leather, fabric, brick, raw wood, and curved or heavily textured surfaces.”

    Does it really hold?

We did not test it, so this is what the evidence says. There is no independent pull-strength test of any HyperMount that we could find.

    • On smooth surfaces, yes, mostly. 9to5Mac said an earlier HyperMount “holds tight, and doesn’t budge even on bumpy roads and around corners” and moved “without leaving residue.” Absolute Geeks reviewed the Gen 3 in August 2026 and praised the magnet strength and hinges, but noted it “needs the right surface” and that the base collects dust and needs cleaning.
    • On textured or soft dashboards, often no. This is where most one-star reports land. One Trustpilot buyer wrote: “On any textured surface, it loses its grip within 60 minutes.” A Gen 3 buyer on Statik’s own site wrote that it “doesnt stick on normal rubberish car dash.”
    • The strength claim does not add up. Statik’s Gen 3 help article says 66 lb of holding force. The Gen 3 product page also shows “88lbs Holding Force,” which is the HyperMount Pro’s rating, and the partner page says “Up to 88 lbs.” Neither number has been independently checked.
    • Heat: we found no reports of it melting or falling in summer, but also no independent hot-car test. Statik itself says to avoid surfaces over 180 degrees F. An Arizona State University study found dashboards in summer sun averaged 157 degrees F after an hour, so hot-climate drivers should not assume it is heat-proof.
    • Cases: one buyer said it “doesn’t work well when your phone is in a protective case,” and another said it “does not hold well” with an Android. If you use a thick case, plan on sticking a ring to the outside of it.

    How much does it cost?

The partner page shows a “regular” price of $39.99, which is higher than Statik’s own $34.99, so ignore the discount badge. The page also has a “free, fast shipping” banner while its offer data lists $5.99 shipping, so check the total at checkout. It does not say which generation it sells, though one testimonial on it mentions the Gen 3.

    Returns, warranty and fine print

    • Partner page returns: the offer page advertises a 30-day return window. That checkout runs through Giddyup’s sales funnel, not statik.com, so read its return policy before you pay.
    • Statik store returns: 60 days from delivery for a change of mind. You must email support first, the item must be undamaged and in original condition, a tracking number is required, and you pay the return shipping, which is not refunded.
    • Defects: Statik says it sends a free replacement if you send a photo or video of the defect.
    • Warranty: 2 years against defects in material or workmanship. Statik picks the remedy (replacement, store credit, or a refund only within 60 days).
    • Your phone is not covered. The product page says your phone “will never hit the floor again. Guaranteed.” But Statik’s policy says it does not compensate for phones, vehicles or other belongings damaged in connection with its products.
    • Shipping (Statik store): 1 business day to prepare, then usually 4 to 7 days in the US, up to 15. Late or missing orders are a common complaint.

    Is Statik legit?

It is a real company, but its customer service record is poor. Curv Group LLC has been in business since 2013 at 860 Bonnie Ln, Elk Grove Village, Illinois, and its founders are named (Michael Tunney, who started KeySmart, and Jonas Johansson). We found no recalls in the CPSC database and no FTC actions or product lawsuits.

    • BBB: D-, not accredited. The stated reason is “failure to respond to 16 complaint(s).” There were 19 complaints in 3 years (product, delivery and service), mostly about Statik chargers, cables and KeySmart items. None named HyperMount. There is no separate Statik profile; it is listed under KeySmart.
    • Trustpilot: 4.2 out of 5 from 3,090 reviews for the whole statik.com store, not just HyperMount. 59% are five stars, but 25% are one star, mostly about late orders, AI-only support and refunds.
    • The phone number: Statik’s store contact page lists “55 11 937312,” which is not a US number format. The BBB lists a different, Illinois number, (847) 461-3777.
    • Marketing to take with salt: “NASA-grade vacuum technology,” “Over 98.7% Satisfaction Rating,” and a store-wide “4.8/5” rating widget. We could not verify any of them.

    What real buyers say

What buyers like: a firm hold on smooth dashboards and windshields, a small and very adjustable arm, and the option to move it to a desk or bathroom mirror. Some Gen 2 owners said Statik sent a free Gen 3 when their older unit broke.

What buyers complain about: losing grip on textured or rubbery dashes, sometimes within minutes or days; one report of sticky residue despite the “no residue” claim; Gen 2 arm screws and bases breaking (Statik’s own log shows an arm-screw fix); and, store-wide, slow shipping and support that buyers say is an AI bot.

Statik’s own site shows 270 Gen 3 reviews with 92% five stars, but that is a brand-run widget and likely mixes in older Gen 2 reviews. The HyperMount Pro has only 24 reviews there, and 25% are one star.

Who should buy it, and who should skip it

A good fit if: you have a MagSafe iPhone, your dashboard or windshield spot is smooth and hard, you want a mount you can also move to a desk or mirror, and you are fine paying return shipping if it doesn’t work out.

Skip it if: your dash is textured, leather-wrapped, soft-touch or curved; you live somewhere with very hot summers and park in the sun; you want charging (look at the Pro or Belkin instead); or a BBB D- is a dealbreaker for you.

    FAQ

Will the HyperMount stick to a textured dashboard?

Only if it is very lightly textured. Statik says to skip heavily textured and curved surfaces, and most one-star reviews come from textured or rubbery dashes. Try it soon after it arrives so you are still inside the return window.

Does the HyperMount work on leather or soft-touch dashboards?

Statik’s Gen 3 page says to skip leather and fabric. Older Gen 2 instructions said leather worked, so older reviews may disagree with the current advice.

Does the HyperMount charge my phone?

No. The Gen 3 is a mount only. The HyperMount Pro ($44.99 at Statik) adds 15W wireless charging and needs a 9V/2A USB-C charger.

Does it work with Android phones or non-MagSafe cases?

Yes, with one of the two included metal rings stuck to the phone or case. Statik says to wait 24 hours before full use. A ring on your case can get in the way of other wireless chargers.

Is it 66 lb or 88 lb of holding force?

Statik’s own pages disagree. The Gen 3 help article says 66 lb, while the product page and partner page show 88 lb, which is the Pro’s rating. Neither has been independently tested.

    Is Statik a legit company?

Yes, it is a real Illinois company (Curv Group LLC, the maker of KeySmart) in business since 2013. But it has a BBB D- for not answering complaints, and 25% of its Trustpilot reviews are one star, mostly about shipping and support.
