Quick verdict
Fieldy is a legit product that does what it says for many people. It is a small wearable that listens to your conversations and meetings, then sends them to your phone where AI turns them into transcripts, summaries and to-do lists. It rates 4.4 on Trustpilot and 4.7 on the App Store, and buyers with busy jobs or ADHD say it helps them remember what was said and what to do next.
The catches are cost and fine print. The $129 device comes with only 150 free minutes a month, so most heavy users end up paying $15.99 to $19.99 a month for unlimited, which makes year one about $320 to $370. Returns close 14 days after delivery, and you are legally responsible for getting consent before recording people.

What is Fieldy?
Fieldy is made by Field Labs Inc., a Delaware company founded by Martynas Krupskis. It started life as a device called Compass, launched as a $99 pre-order in March 2024, and relaunched as Fieldy in 2025. The current model is Fieldy 3.

- How it works: the device records conversations and sends them over Bluetooth to the Fieldy app, which transcribes and summarizes them.
- Offline: it can store about 3 days of recordings without your phone; single recordings stop at 3 hours.
- Battery: the company claims up to 7 days; independent testers of earlier units saw about 3 days.
- Languages: 100+ claimed, though users report it does not automatically detect which language is being spoken.
- In the box: the device, a pendant accessory and a USB-C cable. A watch strap accessory is $19 extra.
How much does Fieldy really cost?
| Item | Price on 2026-10-30 | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Fieldy 3 device | $129 | Shown against a $179 “regular” price; has sold for $89 to $149 in past promotions |
| Free plan | $0 | 150 minutes of detected voice per month |
| Unlimited plan, billed yearly | $15.99/month | About $192 per year |
| Unlimited plan, billed monthly | $19.99/month | About $240 per year |
| Year one, device + unlimited | about $321 to $369 | Depending on yearly or monthly billing |
The App Store also lists a cheaper “Plus” plan ($12.99/month or $119.99/year) that the website does not show. The website does not say exactly what happens when you hit the free 150-minute cap, so plan on a subscription if you want it recording all day.
Returns, warranty and fine print
- Returns: 14 days from delivery, in “pristine condition” with original packaging. “Return shipping is not free.” No restocking fee; refunds arrive 5 to 10 business days after they receive it.
- Conflicting promise: a Fieldy healthcare page advertises a “30-day money-back guarantee,” but the official refund policy says 14 days. Go by the policy.
- Warranty: 1 year for manufacturing defects.
- Subscriptions: billed separately from the device; cancel through the app store or account you subscribed with.
Privacy: who hears your conversations?
- Audio is not kept. Fieldy says audio is deleted after transcription and only the text is stored, so you cannot replay a recording to check a transcript.
- Third parties process it. Speech-to-text and AI features run through outside providers, including ElevenLabs or Soniox, Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Vertex and Cohere. Data is hosted in the U.S.
- AI training: the privacy policy says Fieldy does not train “generalized” AI models on your data.
- Encryption: the policy says data is encrypted “in transit and at rest where appropriate.” One app guide says “end-to-end,” which is a stronger claim.
- Deleting data: Settings, then Delete Account in the app, or by email.
- Health care use: Fieldy markets itself as HIPAA-compliant, but a Business Associate Agreement is only offered on orders of 20 or more devices. A solo clinician should not use it for patient conversations without one.
Is it legal to record people with Fieldy?
Fieldy’s terms make you solely responsible for getting consent. In the U.S., some states only require one person in the conversation (you) to agree, but others require everyone to agree. All-party consent states include California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Washington, and some guides add others. Workplaces often have their own rules too.
Simple rule: tell people you are recording, especially at work, in meetings and anywhere private. This is not legal advice; check your state’s law.
Is Fieldy legit, or a scam?
It is legit. Field Labs ships a working product, has been selling since the Compass days in 2024, and has thousands of app ratings. We found no BBB profile, no funding announcements and no street address in its policies, which is common for small startups but worth knowing.
What real buyers say
Fieldy scores 4.4 out of 5 on Trustpilot from about 1,100 reviews (63% five-star, 7% one-star), 4.7 on the App Store from about 1,400 ratings, and about 4.3 on Google Play. Fieldy invites customers to review on Trustpilot, which tends to raise scores.
What buyers like: remembering tasks and details from meetings, help staying organized with ADHD, easy setup, and a device light enough to forget you are wearing.
What buyers complain about: subscription billing and the small free tier (about half of recent 1- and 2-star reviews), slow or AI-written support replies, shipping delays, Bluetooth disconnects, mixed-up speaker labels, and picking up TV audio.
Who should buy it, and who should skip it
A good fit if: you sit in lots of meetings or conversations, forget follow-ups, are fine paying a monthly plan, and can get consent from the people you record.
Skip it if: you only need occasional notes (a free phone app works), you want to replay original audio, you handle confidential patient or legal conversations, or you do not want another subscription.

- Omi: $229 wearable; unlimited $29.99/month or $269/year.
- Your phone’s built-in voice recorder: free, keeps the original audio, and many phones now transcribe on the device.
