    Quick verdict

A smokeless fire pit uses double walls and air holes to burn the smoke off, so you get a hot fire without smelling like a campfire. TIKI’s Patio Smokeless Fire Pit ($395) has strong independent backing: Reviewed.com made it its Editor’s Choice and “Best Fire Pit For Most People” (June 2026), Bob Vila gave it “Best Design,” and OutdoorGearLab scored the bigger Reunion 81 out of 100. Testers love the one-match TIKI Wood Packs and the pull-out ash pan that makes cleanup easy.

The honest part: OutdoorGearLab rated Solo Stove better on smoke (9 vs 8 out of 10), TIKI’s fire pits weigh 32 to 61 lb and need 15 feet of clearance (no decks), Wood Packs cost about $9 for a 30-minute fire, and the warranty is just 2 years. And if you’re buying TIKI torches to stop mosquitoes, the evidence is weak.

Our picks: Patio ($395) for most backyards. Reunion ($595) for bigger groups. Social ($249) if you want TIKI’s smokeless design for less.

TIKI vs Solo Stove vs Breeo

    Fire pitPriceNotes
TIKI Patio$395Easy cleanup, Wood Packs; 2-year warranty
    TIKI Reunion$595OutdoorGearLab 81/100
Solo Stove Bonfire 2.0$350 listBetter smoke score, much lighter

Breeo X19 Corten$399Breeo advertises a limited lifetime warranty
    Breeo X24 Corten$599Larger

TIKI and Breeo prices from their official sites; Solo Stove prices are OutdoorGearLab’s January 2026 list prices because Solo Stove’s site blocked our check. Solo Stove is lighter and slightly less smoky; TIKI is easier to start and clean. Breeo’s longer warranty claim is worth a look if you plan to keep a pit for many years.

    TIKI torches and fuel

TIKI’s classic torches are cheap: a 4-pack of 57-inch weather-resistant bamboo torches is $32.99, a 2-pack of Hunter metal torches $29.99, and citronella torch fuel $9.49 for 64 oz (BiteFighter fuel $13.99).

Do TIKI torches keep mosquitoes away?

Don’t count on it. TIKI says its BiteFighter fuel cut mosquitoes caught in CO2 traps by over 50%, but it doesn’t say who ran those tests. The EPA notes that area repellents like these “have not been evaluated for effectiveness,” a 2017 study in the Journal of Insect Science found “The citronella candle had no effect,” and University of Wisconsin entomologists found only small reductions. For real protection, use an EPA-registered skin repellent.

    Torch fuel safety

TIKI BiteFighter fuel is 99% mineral oil, and its safety data sheet warns: “DANGER, May be fatal if swallowed and enters airways.” Poison control centers warn that lamp oil can look like a drink to children, so store it locked up and out of reach. Lamplight Farms has had four CPSC recalls involving burn hazards: cone metal torches and bamboo torches (2005), Clear-Vu fuel canisters (2009) and pourable gel fuel (2011). We found none since 2011.

    Warranty, returns and shipping

    • Warranty: 2 years on fire pits, continental US only, and damage from not storing the pit away from the elements isn’t covered.
    • Returns: 30-day refund on direct orders; the policy doesn’t say who pays return shipping.
    • Shipping: free over $50.
    • Company: TIKI is made by Lamplight Farms of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, part of W.C. Bradley Co. The BBB rates Lamplight Farms A+ with 1 complaint in 3 years.

Who should buy a TIKI fire pit

    • Good fit: patio and backyard owners who want an easy-start, easy-clean smokeless fire pit with a cover included.
    • Skip it if: you need to move it often or put it on a deck, want the least smoke possible (Solo Stove scored slightly better), or want a long warranty (look at Breeo).

    FAQ

Is the TIKI smokeless fire pit worth it?

For most backyards, yes: Reviewed.com named the Patio its Best Fire Pit For Most People, and testers praise its heat, easy one-match Wood Packs and pull-out ash pan. Solo Stove scored slightly better on smoke, and TIKI’s warranty is only 2 years.

TIKI vs Solo Stove: which is better?

OutdoorGearLab rated Solo Stove better on smoke (9 vs 8) and it’s much lighter, while TIKI was easier to clean (9.0 vs 7.0 for the Yukon 2.0) and easier to light with Wood Packs.

Is a TIKI fire pit really smokeless?

Not completely. OutdoorGearLab gave the Reunion 8 out of 10 for smoke, a little behind Solo Stove’s 9.

Can you put a TIKI fire pit on a deck?

No. TIKI’s fire pits need about 15 feet of clearance and aren’t meant for decks.

How much do TIKI Wood Packs cost?

$36 for a 4-pack, or about $9 per pack, and each gives roughly a 30-minute fire. You can also burn regular firewood.

Do TIKI torches keep mosquitoes away?

The evidence is weak. TIKI cites undisclosed trap tests, the EPA says such area repellents haven’t been evaluated for effectiveness, and a 2017 study found a citronella candle had no effect. Use an EPA-registered skin repellent instead.

    Is TIKI torch fuel dangerous?

Yes, if swallowed. Its safety data sheet warns it may be fatal if swallowed and enters the airways, and poison control warns that lamp oil can look like a drink to kids. Keep it locked away.

What is the TIKI fire pit warranty?

Two years, continental US only. Damage from leaving the pit exposed to the elements isn’t covered.
